Ryan Gooding, 42

A Monroe City man is headed to prison for stealing equipment from a Lewis County hog farm.

A judge has sentenced Ryan Gooding, 42, to eight years in prison after he pleaded guilty to his part in the theft of $40 thousand worth of stainless steel livestock feeders and watering systems from a swine operation near Monticello, Mo.

In February, Gooding and a Hannibal couple were arrested following a multi-jurisdictional three month long investigation into thefts in the Lewis County area.

In addition to the arrest of Gooding, police apprehended Joseph Worrell, 23, and his wife Ida Worrell, 20, both of Hannibal.

All three were charged with felony stealing.

According to the Lewis County Sheriffâ??s Office, after the suspects stole the farm equipment, they sold the stolen items to area salvage operations in both Missouri and Illinois.

The stolen items were valued at nearly $40,000.
