Jordan Abudayyeh is the Illinois Statehouse Reporter for KHQA.
She brings you the latest political news and how lawmakers' decisions impact you. She joined the news team as a General Assignment Reporter in May of 2014 before taking over the statehouse beat.
She's covered speeches by President Obama, has sat down for interviews with all of the party leaders in the state, as well as the Governor, and has hosted debates for candidates seeking various offices. She regularly appears as an expert on state politics on various programs. Jordan also produces and co-hosts political specials for our viewers on Newschannel 20, KHQA's sister station WICS.
Jordan grew up in Illinois in the Chicago suburbs. She graduated from Marquette University with a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism and Sociology. While in college she was the news director of her college TV station and earned an Emmy for her special project on reporting from war zones with fellow MU alum, James Foley. She interned at CBS 2 Chicago and started her career as an Associate Producer for WISN-TV. She then went on to anchor, report and produce for Naperville Community Television.
Jordan really has two loves politics and food. So when she's not working, you can probably find her trying out a local restaurant or cooking up a new recipe. If you're a fan of Scandal, you can always stop her to talk about the fabulous outfit Olivia wore in the latest episode.
Jordan wants to hear from you. If you have a story idea or have a question about what's happening in the state, you can reach out on Facebook or Twitter. You can also email Jordan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
