Q.U. project gets large financial boost from Ameren Illinois

Quincy University has received a 10 thousand dollar grant from Ameren Illinois for the Mackenzie Field project.

The project is named in honor of the winningest coach in Quincy University history, Jack Mackenzie.

Plans for the Mackenzie Field project include the installation of a regulation size synthetic turf field in the North Campus soccer complex located at 18th and Seminary Road.

That will mean a safer and more versatile playing surface for students and it will also allow new opportunities for youth outreach.

The field is the first phase of a larger fund-raising effort for a future Legends Stadium at the school.
