CENTRAL-SOUTHEASTERN STAR KNUFFMAN COMMITS TO WESTERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY
Nathan Knuffman's stellar kicking has paved the way to Division One College Football.
KHQA has learned that Central-Southeastern's All State Place Kicker gave his verbal commitment to Leatherneck Head Football Coach Mark Hendrickson this morning, ending a recruitment that included flirtations with Iowa State and Illinois.
Knuffman connected on 45 PAT and 5 field goals this season. The strong footed senior hit on the longest field goal in program history (48 yards) and 33 of his 60 kick offs this season resulted in touchbacks. Knuffman also rushed for 986 yards and 10 touchdowns at fullback and posted 94 tackles on defense, and tells KHQA that he hopes he might be able to contribute more than just kicking to the cause in Macomb.
Knuffman expects to come in an compete this summer with incumbent kicker and fellow Tri State product Pat Smith (QND) for reps.
You will hear more for the newest Leatherneck tonight on KHQA's Evening News at 6pm.
