JACK CORNELL FALLS SHORT IN BID TO MAKE BALTIMORE RAVENS 53 MAN ROSTER
The odds were always long against Jack Cornell making the Baltimore Ravens roster as an undrafted free agent.
That established, the Quincy Notre Dame alum has apparently carved out a place for himself in Professional Football, even after being cut today.
Cornell announced his cut by Twitter Friday morning saying "Well didn't make the 53 man but have a spot on the (Practice Squad) if no one else picks me up...."
Which means if no other team NFL Team signs Big Jack, he will continue in the employ of the Ravens. The NFL Practice squad is generally viewed as place to stash promising prospects for a season who can help a franchise into the future.
Cornell went on to Tweet that in a best case scenario, he could help the Ravens win the Vince Lombardi Trophy this year, even if it is as a non-roster player.
"Really like it here the fans are tremendous and it is a first class organization.... "
