Student Athletes of the Week
KHQA-TV, Chris Duerr and ADVANCE Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine are proud to honor Tri-State area high school seniors who excel both on and off the field. Student Athletes are recommended by their athletic director, principal or coach and must be a high school senior during the 2007-2008 school year. Nominees should be in good academic standing, with a minimum 3.5 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale, and must be a participant of an IHSA, IAHSAA or MSHSAA recognized sport. Student Athletes are chosen by an independent Student Athlete Review Board, which consists of seven voting members and one non-voting chairman of the board.
The KHQA-ADVANCE Physical Therapy Student Athlete of the Week is featured each Wednesday on KHQA's Evening News at 6 pm starting September 19 and ending May 14, 2008. Each Student Athlete will receive a plaque and will be honored at a banquet on Thursday, June 5, 2008. Parents and coach of each Student Athlete will also be present. At that time, one Student Athlete will be named KHQA-ADVANCE Physical Therapy Student Athlete of the Year and will be presented a $1,000 scholarship to the college of their choice.
