Quincy city council has a Republican future

The results of Tuesday's mayoral election mean a Republican future for Quincy.

Kyle Moore's victory, with the addition of a majority Republican city council, is a big change for a city where Democrats have been mayors for 28 years.

Moore says his main priority is improve head of household jobs in Quincy.

Quincy University associate history professor Justin Coffey says it is hard to tell how Republicans will fare.

Coffey's thinks Moore's Republican ideology may differ from other Republicans on the city council. He says this could cause a divide in support.

Moore says he spoke with department heads and is ready to get started working with them this May.
