Former teacher, coach heads to court in 2014 for sex-abuse lawsuit

A former Keokuk school teacher will go to trial on allegations of sexually abusing a student, but it will be awhile.

According to Tri-State Public Radio, the trial for Gina Sisk has been set for September of 2014.

An anonymous lawsuit was filed earlier this year against Sisk, the Keokuk School District and a former principal.

The eight-count lawsuit accuses Sisk of assault and battery, sexual abuse and other charges and says that Sisk sexually abused a student identified as Jane Doe II for about two years, starting in 2009.

Sisk has since resigned from the Keokuk School District.

The alleged incidents happened years ago.

Another student, identified as Jane Doe, has two lawsuits pending in Henry County Iowa. Click here for additional information.
