      West Nile found in Hancock County

      The Illinois Department of Public Health confirms that two birds in Hancock County have tested positive for the West Nile Virus.

      A blue jay from Carthage and a crow from Bowen were sent in last week after two residents in the county found them dead.

      No human cases of the West Nile Virus have been reported in the county. But officials urge residents to get rid of any bottles or water-holding containers that may attract mosquitoes.
