Well-known real estate agent suspect in Jacksonville murder

A well-known Jacksonville real estate agent is behind bars Monday morning on charges of murder.

Jacksonville police officers responded to a reported stabbing at a home, at 37 Ivywood, shortly after 4 a.m. Saturday. They found 70-year-old William McElhaney, of Charleston, S.C., stabbed several times laying in a pool of blood.

EMS transported McElhaney to Passavant Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police arrested 48-year-old Robert Heitbrink, of Jacksonville, who was then charged with murder.

Police say the victim was related to the suspect.

The investigation is ongoing.
