Sprout's Inn is back in business.
The Quincy family restaurant officially reopened its doors Tuesday afternoon.
Owner Jenny Wiemelt says it's been a rough road getting the business up and running again after a fire gutted the restaurant last June.
Wiemelt says 95 percent of the original Sprout's staff have returned, but there's one original she wishes were here to celebrate the big day.
"I guess I just wanted my dad to be here with me and enjoy this with me. I think I did it right. I'm really proud to say that I'm a third generation and that me and my husband built this with the help of my employees and staff and I'm really proud of that," Wiemelt said.
"I've seen so many regular customers I haven't seen in a year. It's just so exciting. I had goose bumps every time they walk through the door. It's so great to see them. They're happy to be here, we're happy to have them. It's like a family here and they're coming home. It's like you're kids going away and they're coming back!" Patti Kelly, Sprout's general manager said.
Wiemelt says she's working on a tribute room off the patio area where you'll be able to view family photos and memorabilia from the original Sprout's Inn.
