It's your chance to be a hero to someone and not have to do much to help.
The Adams County Chapter of the American Red Cross March of Heroes campaign begins March 1.
The goal is to raise $50,000 which represents 14 percent of the operating goal for the year for the organization.
Last year, the March of Heroes campaign raised $55,000.
The chairman of this year's fundraiser says he knows the economy is still tight and there are many charities in which you can donate, but he asks you to please remember the Red Cross.
"The Red Cross is sort of like the fire department and police departments," chairman Don Crim said. "You don't always think about them until you need them. Whether you're a fire victim, a flood victim, or whether you're having baby sitting classes, lifeguard classes, or if you're in the hospital and you need a blood collection. Whenever there is a need, the Red Cross is there."
The campaign doesn't officially begin until March first, but 26 percent of the goal has already be raised.
