A northeast Missouri suspect accused of murdering a man and cutting off the victim's arms has been found not competent to stand trial at this time.
Adair County Prosecutor Matt Wilson told KTVO in Kirksville that announcement regarding Paul Potter, 49, of Kirksville was made in court Tuesday.
Wilson says per state law, the court will review Potter's first-degree murder case again in six months.
Potter is accused of fatally stabbing Willis Meredith, 74, of Kirksville back in early January.
Meredith was Potter's neighbor at the Village 76 Senior Housing Complex.
Investigators said Potter cut off the victim's arms and set fires to conceal the crime.
