Vets appreciate Girl Scout cookie donation

There are going to be plenty of smiling faces for the next few days at the Illinois Vet
Home in Quincy.
That's because the Girl Scouts of Central Illinois delivered about 50 cases of cookies to the veterans as part of the Operation Cookie Share program.
It's the third year of the program where people who usually buy girl scout cookies can buy an additional box or two to donate to veterans.
It's something the vets and the staff really appreciate.
"We are so thrilled. When the Girl Scouts called us, the office called us and said could you use some girl scout cookies, we said sure. We didn't know we were going to get 50 cases of cookies. That is unbelievable. Our residents out here are going to be on a little sugar high. We're happy and they're thrilled. So we thank the girl scouts for everything they do for us," Linda Bassett, the activities director for the Illinois Vets Home said.
