48G union members wait to hear what the final tally is on a proposed contract that could end the 10 month lockout

Could there be a break in the lockout between Roquette and the union that represents workers at the Keokuk Iowa plant?

The answer is no, not yet.

BCTGM Local 48 has notified the company of the vote to reject the proposed contract.

Friday morning, members of the BCTGM met at Meyer's Courtyard in Keokuk to hear the latest contract offer the company presented to the union.

Although 48G voted no, they are discussing certain points in that contract and planning to meet with Roquette reps again on Saturday.

The company locked out the union last September and since that time they have operated with replacement employees.
