Two men arrested for involvement in U.S. Cellular burglaries
Two men have been arrested for their involvement in a July 7th burglary that took place at the U.S. Cellular Store in Macomb.
Approximately $33,000 in cell phones and accessories were stolen from the business, located at 726 E. Jackson Street.
Several other similar burglaries had been reported in nearby communities such as Monmouth, Galesburg, Silvis, Washington, Peoria and Canton.
Similar burglaries also took place in Iowa and Wisconsin which prompted the FBI to work with Macomb Police on this investigation.
Michael Davis, 24 of Chicago, and William Sanders, 31 of Bellwood, were arrested on July 31st in Davenport, Iowa for a burglary that occurred at a U.S. Cellular store where $60,000 worth of phones were taken.
Both were charged with McDonough County warrants for Burglary and Theft and are currently lodged in the Scott County, Iowa Jail.
Davis is awaiting $10,000 cash bond for Scott County, IA and $7,500 cash bond for his McDonough County warrant.
Sanders is awaiting $10,000 cash bond for Scott County, IA and $10,000 cash bond for his McDonough County warrant.
