Two homeless individuals arrested for alleged Theft by Deception of elder
On Tuesday, Quincy Police and the West Central Illinois Case Coordination Unit began an investigation after a complaint was made in reference to subjects who were allegedly obtaining money from a 70-year-old victim by deception.
On Wednesday, two individuals who stated they were homeless were arrested for Theft by Deception over $500.
Donald Mayes, 51, was lodged on the new charge and on an outstanding Adams County warrant for Unlawful Possession of Meth.
Melissa Martin, 49, was cited and released on a notice to appear.
Both Mayes and Martin are scheduled for a court appearance on May 3rd.
