A Callao Missouri man found himself in jail Tuesday after police began an investigation into a domestic disturbance early Monday morning.
Cody J. Dudley, 19, is being held on charges of domestic assault 2nd degree and resisting arrest.
The Macon County Sheriff's Office says that deputies responded to an address north of Callao to investigate the disturbance.
According to a press release, the victim reported to deputies that she had been choked and punched in the face and that the suspect had left the residence on foot carrying a large knife and a handgun.
Monday afternoon, the sheriff??s office received a tip from a citizen that the suspect was at their house asking for water and to use a phone, police say. That's when deputies and the Missouri State Highway Patrol K-9 Unit responded to the area and located the suspect running through a wooded area. The suspect eluded law enforcement and the search was called off at sunset.
Tuesday morning, Macon County deputies and troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol were patrolling the area where the initial incident occurred. They located Dudley crossing a gravel road. After a brief foot pursuit, he was apprehended and taken into custody.
Dudley is being held in the Macon County Jail. He was unable to the post a $10,000 cash only bond.
He is scheduled to appear in Macon County Associate Court on June 20.
