Many Twitter users saw messages like, "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at twitter.com" and "Problem loading page" on their computer screens Friday.
The Twitter outage began at approximately 11:20 a.m. and it immediately sent some Twitter users into a frenzy. Many depend on Twitter for daily conversations with friends, family and acquaintances.
"I was right in the middle of a conversation, but so many other people were, too, and that's probably why the Fail Whale popped up," Shelby Sierra Rees said on KHQA's Facebook page.
Unfortunately, in this technological age where you subscribe to a service for free on the web, there's really no customer service or even automated phone number to call.
Twitter is no stranger to outages. Early on, they came up with the "Fail Whale" themselves in a creative attempt to let users know that they were working on issues. This time around, however, Twitter issued a
saying "Users may be experiencing issues accessing Twitter. Our engineers are currently working to resolve the issue."
We know one thing ... around the globe employees everywhere were either getting a ton of work done, or taking an early lunch!
