Triopia Food Pantry relying on community
Mon, 27 Sep 2010 21:08:10 GMT —
The Triopia Food Pantry has more than doubled the amount of families it serves since opening in 1994.
Out of a small closet in the basement of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, the Triopia Food Pantry serves about 25 families every year.
It is now in need of help to keep serving the community.
The food pantry is not government supported so it relies on individuals, churches and schools to keep the shelves stocked.
Non-perishable food items are always needed, but money is essential.
"Most of the families have children so we like to buy meat, milk, things that kids need. If you don't have the money to buy even staples, you don't buy that," said Director Juanita Hendricker.
If you can help the Triopia Food Pantry, you can contact Juanita Hendricker at 217-997-2102 or drop of donations at 999 Arensville Rd., Arensville, IL 62611.
