Trial delayed in multi-state bank robberies

The trial of a man charged in a multi-state bank robbery spree has been delayed.

Willie Franklin, 37, is charged in numerous robberies, including the Dec. 26 robbery of the First Mid-Illinois Bank and Trust.

Jury selection was scheduled to begin Monday. A pre-trial hearing was rescheduled for July 1, according to federal court records.

Franklin is charged with four federal counts of bank robbery. He's also accused of robberies in Missouri, Iowa and Indiana.

Federal authorities arrested Franklin in January near Tampa, Fla.
