      Tri-State Homecoming Queen goes for national title

      Jacksonville High School's Homecoming Queen is getting big time attention this week.

      Eighteen-year-old Bridgette Lonergan was crowned Jacksonville's 2011 Homecoming Queen. Recently she was chosen to represent Illinois in the America's Homecoming Queen pageant this week.

      During that contest she was named 4th runner-up in the national competition, ranking higher than her goal of making it to the top ten in the nation.

      Jacksonville High School's Homecoming Queen is headed to national competition this week.

      Eighteen-year-old Bridgette Lonergan was crowned Jacksonville's 2011 Homecoming Queen.

      May 19 she was chosen to represent Illinois during the 32nd annual Homecoming Queen Selection contest in Normal. Now she heads to the America's Homecoming Queen pageant this weekend in California.

      Lonergan is the daughter of Michael P. Lonergan and Nora Wynn, both of Jacksonville.
