      Trash talking in Keokuk


      It's hard to think about snow when we're in summer, but folks in Keokuk will have it on their minds.


      According to Tri-States Public Radio, the Keokuk City Council has rewritten some nuisance ordinances.


      Property owners will now have 24 hours to remove snow and ice from their sidewalks in front of their property.


      If not, city crews will clean them and then charge the property owner.


      And in a couple of weeks, garbage containers must have tight fitting lids, and only garbage can be placed inside.
