Traffic stop finds Missouri man concealing more than drugs

A routine traffic stop led to two drug arrests overnight Thursday.
Around 2 a.m. Quincy police stopped a black 1978 Chevrolet driven by Jermie Pine, 31, of Mexico, Mo. for a traffic offense at 22nd and Jackson Street.
A Quincy police K9 alerted police to something in the car. Investigators were then called in to search the car. Located inside was suspected methamphetamine, cannabis and a loaded firearm.
Officers arrested Pine along with his passenger James Koons also of Mexico.
Pine faces charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cannabis and traffic offenses.
Koons was arrested on an outstanding Pike County, Ill. warrant for failure to appear on a charge of possession of cannabis.
Both are in the Adams County Jail.
