School dismissed early Wednesday in Monroe City, Mo. after a bomb threat was discovered.
According to a release from the Monroe City R-1 School District:
The threat was discovered about 10:20 a.m. and reported to officials at Monroe City High School.
High school students were evacuated to a secure location. The elementary and middle schools were placed on lockdown.
A search of the high school was conducted. No suspicious or dangerous items were found.
The school district dismissed at 1:30 p.m.
No one was allowed back in the building after 2:45 p.m.
