Texting and driving can affect insurance rates

You've heard a lot about the dangers of texting and driving.

Insurance agent Bryan Feldner says a texting while driving violation counts the same as a speeding ticket would toward your rates at Cason, Huff and Schlueter.

Since texting and driving has only been illegal for a relatively short amount of time, Feldner says he hasn't noticed many people being affected.

"I was talking to some other agents today trying to discuss this, and we have not seen any come through on our insurance policies as of right now," Feldner said.

He expects more insurance agencies will work these tickets into their rates in the future.
