Terrorism conspiracy charge for Fort Madison man

Police arrested a Fort Madison man who is charged with hiring another person to shoot at police officers.

Dillen Eaves, 18, is charged with conspiracy to commit terrorism and conspiracy to commit intimidation with a dangerous weapon.

Investigators received information that Eaves asked another person to conduct drive-by shootings at the homes of two police officers, according to a press release statement from the Iowa Department of Public Safety.

He also provided a gun in January that the would-be shooter would use in the shootings. He also paid the person $1,200, the release says.

The shootings never took place.

Eaves remains in the Lee County Jail on $100,000 bond.
