Wed, 15 Dec 2010 21:33:12 GMT — On Sunday, Dec. 19 from 1-3 p.m., you can get a look inside one of Quincy's most prominent historic homes. The Friends of the Log Cabins Association is hosting tours of the 1880s house located at 1677 Maine. This historic house has been decorated for the holiday season with more than 25 Christmas trees. This 4000 square-foot, red brick, Queen Anne-style house has beautiful walnut woodwork and expansive 12-foot ceilings. The house has more than 20 historically furnished rooms decorated for the holidays. Members of the FLC Association will be located in various rooms to point out the historical and architecturally unique features found in this magnificently constructed and maintained historic house, once owned by the Baldwin, Dayton, and Emery families from Quincy. No reservations are necessary. Admission to this Historic Christmas House Tour is $12/person or $24/family, which includes membership in the Friends of the Log Cabins Association. Funds raised through this membership activity support the restoration and preservation of the 1800s Lincoln-era Log Cabin Village located on Quinsippi Island.
