Swimmer pulled from water at Wakonda State Park

Scott Andrews pulled a male victim out of the water and with the help of other beach goers hoisted him on a raft and floated him to shore


La Grange Fire Rescue and Lewis County Sheriff's Deputies responded to Wakonda State Park near LaGrange, Missouri Thursday afternoon after a report of a near drowning.


Details are still coming in, but KHQA has confirmed that a man was airlifted to Blessing Hospital following the incident which happened at around 3:30 p.m.


Scott Andrews, a witness at the scene, was swimming at the time when he noticed a girl crying for help near the swim boundary, as he was pulling her out of the water, he felt something around his leg.


Andrews then pulled the male victim out of the water, and with the help of other beach goers, hoisted him on a raft and floated him to shore.


Officials have not released the man's name or information about his current condition.
