Suspected drunk driver joins Hannibal parade

The NEMO Shrine Club Parade in Hannibal did not end well for a 60-year-old Lake St. Louis man.

Saturday morning the unnamed subject was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while revoked after he drove past a police vehicle at the end of the parade route and followed the parade nearly striking parade-goers, police said. He continued along the parade route to S. Main where police finally stopped him.

According to the Hannibal Police Department, the subject was not affiliated with the parade and had several previous convictions for driving while intoxicated.

He was released on a summons.
