Suspect wanted in attempted Hannibal robbery

Officers with the Hannibal Police Department say they were called to the 800 block of Mark Twain Ave. on Friday night for an attempted robbery.

The incident occurred at 11:33 p.m.

Police say witnesses described the suspect as a white male who was approximately six feet tall and wore a black hooded jacket with blue jeans. According to the report, the man's face was covered as he entered the business and demanded money, saying he had a weapon, but no weapon was displayed.

When the clerk did not give the suspect any money after several demands, he fled on foot, police say.

Officers canvassed the area, but the suspect was not located.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
