Suspect in motel beating sentenced

Paxton Barnett, 19

One of the men accused of an August hotel beating has gotten probation for his part in the attack.

A judge sentenced Paxton Barnett, 19, to 24 months probation last week after he pleaded guilty to trespassing. A judge also sentenced him to 180 days of periodic imprisonment, but stayed the sentence.

Barnett was one of three men who went to the Bel Aire Motel, broke into a room to beat Jason Peyton, 21, of Canton. Click here for the original story.
