It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Crossing in Quincy this week.
The community stuffed 255 shoe boxes with toys, necessities, and school supplies, which will be shipped to children in more than 130 countries.
The Quincy area is participating in a program called, "Operation Christmas Child."
The idea is to give gifts to children who've never received them before and in the process, teach them about Christianity.
"These children are living in desperate situations, and the boxes are used as a tool to present Jesus Christ to the children," organizer Mary Shelor said.
Organizers hope to pack about 2000 shoe boxes.
They will be collecting items all this week.
