A Quincy man is behind bars Monday after he was found at 504 Jersey in violation of an order of protection.
Quincy Police responded to a report of a man and a woman yelling. The report stated that the woman was crying.
That's when officers found Marcus Whitfield and a woman in one of the apartments at the address.
An investigation was conducted and officers learned that Whitfield had an order of protection against him that prohibited him from being at the address and from being around the woman who lives there.
Whitfield was found to be in possession of a small amount of cannabis upon being arrested, police said.
As the officers were walking him down the stairs to exit the building, Whitfield attempted to flee on foot. According to police, a brief struggle ensued, but Whitfield was quickly subdued.
Whitfield was lodged in the Adams County Jail after being arrested for violation of an order of protection, resisting a peace officer and possession of cannabis.
