      Spaghetti could help Haiti

One group of Blessed Sacrament Parishioners holds a spaghetti dinner each year to raise money for its sister parish in Haiti.

How does a bowl of spaghetti help the country of Haiti?

One group of Blessed Sacrament Parishioners holds a spaghetti dinner each year to raise money for its sister parish in Haiti. The group is called the "Haiti Medical Mission."

This is the seventh year they have held the fundraiser. They collected free will donations at the dinner. All of the money made goes toward medical supplies for their sister parish.

They will make their trip to Haiti on January 10th to deliver the supplies. The idea for this trip began ten years ago after the group first visited Haiti.

"Such a devastation of people who were sick. Who were very very poor. We came back home and we saw the need. For some reason God just told us that we had to go back and help them," Barbara Peters with the Haiti Medical Mission said.

If you missed the dinner but still want to help out, you can mail donations to Michael Grant at 1420 Summers Lane. Quincy, IL. 62305. Make your check out to "Haiti Medical Mission."
