Snow Emergency declared in Macomb

A Snow Emergency has been declared in Macomb, Illinois, effective at 3 p.m. February 21, 2013.
The Snow Emergency was declared in anticipation of a major winter storm expected to occur over the next 18 hours.
It will remain in effect until officially canceled.
Parking is prohibited on Emergency Snow Routes when a Snow Emergency has been declared. All Emergency Snow Routes are posted. Residents are requested to relocate any vehicles parked on Snow Routes before 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013.
Vehicles parked on a Snow Route during a Snow Emergency may be towed without notice.

This winter storm is forecast to be severe and may bring several inches of snow to the Macomb area. Residents are encouraged to make all preparations necessary for their health and safety during this Winter event.
The Macomb YMCA said that it would shut its doors at 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon and reopen Friday at 8 a.m.
