It's got a funny name, but a new store in Fort Madison is doing big things to help a local animal shelter.
According to the Fort Madison Daily Democrat, a resale shop called The Smoochie Poochie recently opened up on Avenue G.
But unlike most businesses, this one isn't to make a profit for the building owners, but to raise money for the Protectors of Animal Welfare or PAW animal shelter.
The animal-loving store owners are now taking donations from area residents, then reselling them. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to PAW at the end of each month.
