Christina Maubach /

Counselors are available for students at South Shelby High School Wednesday after 17-year-old Christina Maubach died in a one car accident Tuesday morning.

Missouri Highway Patrol reports the high school student was driving west on Route CC when the car went off the left side of the roadway, hit an embankment and overturned. Maubach was ejected from the vehicle.

There is a visitation service Thursday at Greening Eagan Hayes from 3:00-8:00 p.m. with funeral services scheduled for Friday at 10:00 a.m at the South Shelby High School.

Greening Eagan Hayes is handling arrangements.

One resident of Shelbina told KHQA that Christy was an amazing girl who cared for her three siblings after her mother's death from brain cancer on May 18th, 2009.

A candlelight vigil at Shelbina Lake was held Tuesday night.

Just so you know, KHQA was told by a friend of Christina's that her last post on Facebook was at 8:00 p.m. the night before she passed:

I see skies of blue and clouds of whiteThe bright blessed day, the dark sacred nightAnd I think to myself what a wonderful world. TM
