Sentencing delayed for Barry teen's beating case

The sentencing of a teenager arrested in a baseball-bat beating in Barry was postponed until February.

Levi Niffen, 17, pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated battery with great bodily harm in a previous hearing.

The court ordered Niffen to undergo a psychiatric examination and ordered him to stay away from the victim's family.

The hearing was scheduled for Friday morning. An exact date for the sentencing has not been scheduled.

Niffen remains in jail on a $500,000 bond. The incident occurred Oct. 6, 2013.
