Icy road conditions are to blame for a semi-truck crash that sent two people including a Hannibal teen to the hospital.

The incident happened Sunday around 5 p.m. just west of Hannibal on Highway MM at Veterans Road.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says West Everett was driving his semi when it slid on ice through a stop sign and into the path of 19-year-old Steven Ruby's car.

Ruby hit the side of the semi-truck.

Ruby and his passenger were both taken to Hannibal Regional Medical Center.
