Selling cookies to create more light
Macomb, Illinois —
Macomb Little League teams spent their day selling cookies to raise money.
It's all to raise money to install lights at Veterans Field.
Organizers hope those lights will attract more tournaments to the area.
Hy-Vee in Macomb will donate 50 cents for every twelve pack of cookies sold during the month of December.
"Giving the kids an opportunity to get involved with the fundraising aspect so they can feel like they had some ownership in the opportunity, and they've been really, really wonderful to get to run around and try and get people to buy cookies from them, literally running around," Rachel Lenz with the Macomb Park District said."
Residents or businesses wishing to donate can contact the Macomb Park District.
