Salvation Army Fan Program and Cooling Centers
QUINCY, Ill. —
While we aren't in heat advisory territory, we will be feeling the heat this weekend.
The Salvation Army Kroc Center in Quincy is a registered cooling center.
During heat advisories or extreme heat, anyone is welcome to stop by and cool off at the Kroc.
The cooling center is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
And don't forget about the Salvation Army's fan program for those in need this summer.
"Just having that air flowing makes such a difference. Now is it as good as being in an air conditioned building? Probably not. But having that air moving will keep people healthy. Keep them from dehydrating and so many things it will do," said Major Andy Miller.
The program begins this Friday.
Fans will be distributed in both Quincy and Hannibal at the Family Services Center.
An ID, social security card or medical card is required to apply.
Fans will be distributed while supplies last.
