Salvation Army brings Thanksgiving to the community

The Salvation Army offered an alternative to spending Thanksgiving alone. Hundreds of people went to the Kroc Center for a free thanksgiving dinner.

It is a tradition that has been going on for at least forty years. The Salvation Army Free Thanksgiving Dinner brings members of the community together to enjoy a meal they might not get at home.

Those who come for the meal are not the only people enjoying the event. Around two hundred people volunteered for the dinner.

The event fed more than four hundred people. Every year it is open to the public. Food that was not finished by the end of the event was donated to different homes around Quincy.
