Rev. Roy Bauer gifts estate to QND Foundation
QUINCY, IL —
Quincy Notre Dame High School receives what it's calling a substantial gift from the estate of Reverend Roy Bauer.
The donation marks one of the largest gifts to be presented to the catholic-based Quincy School.
The money will be used to support an endowed scholarship.
A QND foundation spokesperson says the funds will be invested to support yearly tuition assistance to help future students.
"He was such an icon in our community for many, many people for many, many years and really his whole focus was getting all souls to heaven and in able to do that his focus was making sure we provide a catholic education for every student who wanted to receive it,” says QND Foundation Executive Director Kurt Stuckman.
Thirty percent of students receive financial assistance to attend QND.
Reverend Bauer died last April.
