October is Operation Snowball Month in Illinois.
Operation Snowball is a group of high school students who promote substance abuse prevention.
Monday afternoon, the group was talking to fifth graders at St. Dominic's School in Quincy.
As part of Red Ribbon Week, these high schoolers were teaching the fifth graders how hard it is on your body to smoke and drink.
One particular exercise had the fifth graders jogging in place for a minute.
After that, they jogged in place for another minute while breathing through a straw to simulate what it's like to smoke.
"The prevention games we play show them the difference between normal and smoking and the difference between normal life and drinking," says Bryce Moore.
The Operation Snowball group is spending time at other parochial schools in Quincy the rest of this week.
