Red Cross helps family after Hamilton house fire

A Hamilton family is in need of food and shelter after a house fire destroyed their home 1210 Elm Street Wednesday morning.
The fire took place at approximately 1:05 a.m. at the home of Clayton Varner.
According to Hamilton Fire Chief Steve Helenthal, when crews arrived on scene, the fire was visible from the back of the home. Firefighters were able to contain the fire quickly.
The home suffered heavy smoke, fire and water damage, but the Varner family was able to escape without any injuries.
The Hamilton Fire Department responded to the fire along with The Hamilton Police Department and the Warsaw Fire Department and crews were on scene for three hours. Red Cross volunteers were immediately called in to help.
