Ralls County law enforcement dispatch services moved to Marion County
Ralls County, Missouri —
All law enforcement in Ralls County has moved its dispatch services to Marion County effective Thursday at 2 p.m.
That's according to a news release from the Ralls County Sheriff's office.
The announcement comes after the Ralls County 911 Emergency Services sent a letter to law enforcement earlier this week informing them about changes in its dispatch policies.
The letter states:
"After investigation of the liability issues and feasibility issues concerning the 911 Dispatch Center's rendering of certain MULES services to law enforcement agencies, the board resolved to change the policies effective after December 31, 2017."
MULES stands for Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System.
The Ralls County Sheriff's office responded to that letter on Thursday stating "Criminal history information is essential in determining what level of offense to charge someone newly arrested for certain crimes such as driving while intoxicated or driving while suspended or revoked."
The Ralls County Sheriff's office along with police departments from New London, Center and Perry migrated services to Marion County 911 Thursday afternoon.
