Quinn announces Get Covered Illinois under Affordable Care Act

Uninsured residents in Illinois have until the end of March to buy health insurance through Get Covered Illinois.

Illinois officials have decided on a brand name for the new health insurance marketplace set to open Tuesday.

Governor Pat Quinn's administration announced the Get Covered Illinois campaign as "The Official Health Marketplace."

The brand and logo are part of a multimillion-dollar ad campaign beginning on Oct. 1.

Uninsured residents in Illinois have until the end of March to buy health insurance through Get Covered Illinois.

State officials expect at least 300 thousand people to sign up for coverage using new options available through President Barack Obama's health care law.

The Affordable Care Act requires nearly all Americans to have health insurance.
