Quincy trash program tote sign up has begun

Residents have one month to sign up for the tote option.

Wheeled totes will be part of the Quincy trash program and sign up has begun.

"Its $12.99 a month, they won't start being charged until the program starts but then they will pay for a 60 dollar tote and that will belong to the resident," Quincy Mayor Kyle Moore said.

Residents have one month to sign up for the tote option. Above the monthly fee, the 95 gallon wheeled tote with lid costs participants a one-time $60.00 tote fee to be billed when service begins.

Sign up will run from Monday, May 5 to Friday, June 6.

To sign up, visit the water department on the 2nd floor at City Hall or call 217-228-4580 and be ready if you have a password on your water account. No late sign ups will be accepted, according the the city website here.

Don't forget that the trash stickers are now blue, but if you have any of the old orange ones lying around, you can still use them.

The cost of stickers was increased from 50-cents to 75-cents. That rate took effect May 1.
