Quincy teachers approve proposed contract

Quincy teachers have ratified a contract with the Quincy Public School District.

Quincy Federation of Teachers President Valarie Bordenkircher said she couldn't release any details.

Last week, she told KHQA that the union's negotiating committee was extremely pleased with the proposed contract.

"I don't know if it's ever easy, but this time did have a different feel to it," Bordenkircher said. "We're not sure what it was but there were parts that just went smoother this time. A little more congenial."

The details were presented to the teachers this past Monday.

They had a couple of days to think about the deal and then vote on it.

The Quincy School Board is expected to vote on the contract Friday meeting.

Last week, QFT and the Quincy School Board reached a tentative contract agreement after meeting for more than five hours.
